Satellite Radio-------- XM or Sirius? Which is better and why?
I am going with one of them soon and would like any first hand pro/con comments. Reception problems? Better programming? Etc.

1. If you are a fan of AAR/Mike Malloy...
I'd go with Sirius...they air the complete Air America schedule. XM cuts off at 10pm for Alan Colmes of all people :puke:

3. Sirius carries the COMPLETE Air America lineup and also has
a 2nd liberal channel in addition: TalkLeft.

XM doesn't carry the full AirAmerica lineup nor does it have a 2nd liberal channel.

I have Sirius and I love it!

5. I personally have XM in my car
At work, we now have XM to lizten too. One of my co-workers has Siruis in his car, and now that he's listened to it at work, is thinking about switching.

If you want the whole AAR broadcast then go with Sirius, but if you listen to more music in the car, etc. I'd go with XM.

6. Thanks for the info!
I think I will go with Sirius based on the AAR lineup and also XM cutting in at 10:00 with Colmes. I liked XM's MLB affiliation, but I can get the Yankees most of the time on the AM. I appreciate the input.

7. I pretty much agree with eveyone's opinions here
I actually have both. Now that they are the same price per month, that takes a big factor out of the equation. Generally, XM offers a better variety of music channels and MLB. Sirius has better talk, including 2 progressive channels and the full AAR lineup, plus NFL and Howard Stern (in the future). They now both offer included online streaming of music channels.

Also, for what it's worth, XM has better customer service. I have had many dealings with Sirius over a malfunctioning receiver and they are not accomodating.

Just one person's experience. Enjoy!

16. I have XM
Mainly because I can program channels through my car's navigation system. My spouse loves old standards, such as "Frank's Place" XM Radio channel 73.

For those who talk about Blue, Comedy channel 150 is sharp, and we love it.

And it's more "Blue" as far as the company goes.

9. Take it from a truck driver, go with Sirius! Not only does Sirius
have more channels than XM, it also has Mike Malloy and XM don't.

10. Go Sirius!
I've had it for a year and a half - and I love it!

It has both TalkLeft (Sirius Liberal, if you will) and a 24-7 Air America.

And it has the perfect music station, BuzzSaw, for the older rocker.

Or I'm in an old rocker, or something...

In any case, go with Sirius, I say.

13. Old People's rock with kind of a metal edge.
Everything from Clapton's guitar to AC/DC guitar to Motley-Crue guitar.

14. I have XM, and no complaints.
As for the AAR thing, I just listen to the stream from the AAR website at work. I just wish they had the rights to the NFL...
I have it for the music, primarily. Despite their "partnership" with Clear Channel, the music programming is excellent, and a bad day of XM is ten times better than a good day of commercial radio.

15. I have XM because of the Bob Edwards show
It's worth it just for that. I SO miss him on Morning Edition.

I think there's more news on Sirius. All I listen to is Bob Edwards and America Left (mostly AAR).

Love it!

17. Sirius because I'm a huge Malloy and NFL fan
The music is getting more diverse, too, with every lineup change.
