Drunks who bake cakes...

My friend Lynda is totally cool. She is the type of person who can pick out the best stuff. The picture you see above was a photograph of a wedding cake that she wanted for her wedding.

I don't know where Lynda got the photo, but it looks pretty neat and with her colors and flowers it was going to be a smash hit. As complex as the pattern looks at first, when you really think about it, it is just a serious of straight ribbons laced together. I think the design is great.

Unfortunately, Lynda didn't consider that her baker might make some promises that she couldn't keep. In fact, it seems like Lynda's baker was more interested in Rum Cake than Wedding cake.

See what Lynda's actual cake ended up looking like.

This photo is from her ACTUAL reception. This pile of cake had to sit in front everyone during the reception. Lynda spent the first year of her marriage in the courtroom suing a drunk baker. Ouch.

1. That's ghastly
One thing about the cake that she wanted: it's rolled fondant, NOT butter cream. It would be impossible to duplicate the cake she wanted without starting with rolled fondant.

Anything else about the lawsuit? No matter how hideous the cake is - she used it, which was a huge mistake. I would've refused it and just purchased a sheet cake at one of the grocery stores. They always have those on hand and the cost would've been added to her damages. On the other hand, it's so horrible it would've been tempting to use it anyway as prop comedy.

3. She didn't pay for that did she?
Oh dear god...The woman needed a screen printer thingy for that. That's the ugliest cake I've ever seen. The picture of what she wanted was beautiful. The bottom pic is just sad. Please tell me she didn't pay the idiot that made it.
