I've learned my lesson - get a flu shot! I've felt exceedingly miserable for the past 72 hours, and it seems to be getting worse despite my best efforts. Sorry for complaining - there are plenty of people out there with much worse problems than I have. Please kill me, I'm begging you!

Your arm will feel like someone whacked it with a ball-peen hammer for about five days, but you'll be protected against some of the nasty flu-like bacterial stuff.

They usually have these at the flu-shot clinics, but you have to ask for it.

5. Sorry you feel crappy

I've alway heard the shot can't make you sick, but have known plenty of people who have had the same reaction as you.

Drink lots of fluids, take 600-800mg of Ibuprofen/Advil every 6-8 hours (3 or 4 OTC pills - don't freak, it's really OK) for the achiness and fever, and a nice soak in the tub always makes me feel better. Baby yourself with comfort foods like Spagettios, Ramen, Mac 'n Cheese, ginger ale, popsicles, etc.

Don't forget that Ibuprofen! It's a wonder drug when you hurt all over!
