Man in Letterman Plot Arrested in Montana
By JOHN MacDONALD, Associated Press Writer

Thursday, March 17, 2005

(03-17) 12:16 PST Helena, Mont. (AP) --

Authorities have arrested a man on allegations he was plotting to kidnap David Letterman's young son and nanny from the talk-show host's Montana home.

Sally Hilander, a spokeswoman for the Montana Department of Corrections, identified the suspect as Kelly A. Frank.

The plot was uncovered when someone whom Frank had approached about the plan informed local police, Hilander said. Frank was in custody on a felony charge of solicitation.

Two spokesmen for Letterman in New York did not immediately return telephone calls seeking comment.

4. Yeah, he showed a video of it, in fact.

5. He had a stalker years ago
who pretended to be his wife, broke into his house etc.

It's even scarier though, when your kids get threatened.

6. I think she broke in more than once
Greeted him in a Donna Reed "Oh hello hon" kind of way. Very scary.

I was unaware of him showing a video of a bear (see above) I don't watch as much as I used to.

7. I think you're right about the stalker
I think she might have taken his car too.

I do remember the bear video vaguely.

9. Fame sucks.
I'll bet Dave wishes he could make a living just being a funny guy without all the notoriety.

11. It kind of makes you wonder
how many ordinary people like you and me are victimized by wackos like that.

Cheers Tigereye! Have a Paddy's Day brew for me. I've got some kind of cruddy virus, so the only thing I'm drinking is tea, water, and chicken soup!

12. I was going to ask you what you were imbibing tonight!
hope you feel better. There was some weird virus going around up here as well, fortunately none of us has gotten it yet.

I went to my beer place earlier and got a Smithwick's Irish Ale (it was okay, a little acidic), and an O'Hara's Irish Stout, which I thought I would try tomorrow. :hi:
