2. The day after the JFK assasination....

...when the "First Family" album was breaking all sales records, week after week...

Lenny opened his performance the next night by walking up to the mike, and standing silently until the entire crowd had hushed in expectation.

And then he said, simply:

"Boy, Vaughn Meader is FUCKED!"

And he was correct. How many people TODAY have ever even heard the name of Mr. Meader, the 'comic' who outsold the Beatles?


Lenny never sold SHIT, but we all heard of him, haven't we?

He did it back in the 60's, and it is gut-busting funny.
And not dirty either!

though I was born shortly after he died. I heard it on a documentary. The link goes to FBI files that were obtained through Freedom of Information Act disclosure. Nothing surprising, though interesting for a kind of naus-talgia thing.
