1. Donny Darko redeems "Head Over Heels".
And "Cars" was 1979, IIRC.

footnote: I'm an extra in the Head Over Heels video, which was shot in the Osgood Hall Law Library in Toronto.

16. Just checked my vinyl...copyright 1979.
I think it took a few months to "break" stateside.

I saw Numan in 1998 or so... he was fantastic!!!!

13. Surprisingly, they weren't bad live.
I only saw them because I was doing an article on the band opening for them when they were in town. I wasn't even going to stay to watch them, but I ended up enjoying them.

7. Planet Earth (Night Version)
The version that originally appeared on the first Duran Duran album was something of an epic dance song... then, when they hit big with RIO, the record company reworked their first album, cutting Planet Earth way down to make room for "Is There Something I Should Know?" ...it wasn't until a couple of years ago that the original "Night Version" was available on CD... and I'm realizing I know WAY too much about that topic.

10. oh...well get this.
Not only do I have an original, pre-Rio pressing of the first album, but I have the Japanese-only pressing 12" version of Planet Earth (Night Version), with an impossibly bad cover of Bowie's "Fame" on the flipside! :eyes:

18. Everyone ..
.... disses the flock for their piled-on hair, but trust me they weren't the first or only English band to take on that look.

Find a pic of the Thompson Twins :)
