Have you ever nominated something for Greatest page just because...
I mean, just because... Not because it's particularly great, or anything, or perhaps because it was exceptionally bad. I can't think of which threads I've nominated, but I have done just that.

Next thing you know, I'm going to be using a random number generator and nominating threads that match up.

1. I just had to nominate this...

I love irony!

on edit:
As a rule though, I only nominate post I really like, or find important. The greatest page is there for a reason, why try and undermine it by putting shit there.

3. Well, I'm not nominating it.
Not because it isn't particularly great, or anything, or because it is exceptionally bad, either. I just don't nominate ANY thread. I mean, to nomi8t a thread I have 2 b seriously motivated by an impulse, or MONEY, or SOMETHING!

:freak:

5. No.
It defeats the purpose of the Greatest Page, which is to make it easier to find threads that appeal to most folks. Why screw it up?

8. I agree.
I really like the Greatest Page feature and though I'll reply to (and often create) a strange useless lounge post, I won't rec it. There's some *really* good posts I wouldn't have come across if it weren't for that feature.

10. I'm sorry.
I really wish I had an example of a thread I nominated for greatest page that didn't really deserve it (in the traditional sense). It's been at least a couple of days. Maybe it's because it's a wonderfully witty lounge post, or something that has nothing to do with great important, all mighty things that usually go on the Greatest page. I am honestly not trying to "screw things up". Lighten them up, maybe, but I confess to no malicious intent, here.

14. No malicious intent assumed
...or implied. I just wanted to answer from the heart. I am a real fan of the Greatest Page and don't want it to be misused by those who might take your post the wrong way.

11. If you had told me when I woke up this morning...
...that I would have two threads on the greatest page before I go to bed, I would have said, "Keep dreaming."

G'night, folks.

13. Please don't muddy the Greatest page...?
It is starting to lose relevance. (At least in my opinion.)
