to say it's a virtual blizzard.

I got the better end of the deal this weekend!

here Tuesday to go back home to Pittsburg. He's wanting to relocate now. Seems to happen every time we have guests!

I have a picture of my kids that is much like this one. Does that bring back memories!

7. I really want to get out to a nursery
but I know there's not really much available at this time of year. Poppies and lupines, lupines and poppies.

10. Well if it makes ya feel better...
I wish I could GROW lupines and poppies!

The only lupines we get here are bluebonnets. And I've tried a couple times to plant poppy seeds, and they just never sprout!

11. Wow! I can't imagine poppies not growing almost anywhere.
My mother in law lived in Seattle, and her sister lived in Atlanta, and they were both gardeners.

Every time they'd visit each other it was all about "I could never grow that!" in their own climates.

For some reason they never want to sprout where I put them!

21. I know.
I can't wait! Richardson is always full of median wildflowers. One of the few things I like about working there.

22. this year I am going to take a southwards drive to see some
big fields with lots of bluebonnets waving in the wind.

And take photos.

I have some gorgeous shots of golden fields of flowers taken in late May heading south west toward LoneStar Caverns and Natural Bridge Caverns.

If I ever find them I will post them.

8. I cleaned up my garden all day!
Raking raking raking. Did I mention raking?

Dredged our pond, and cleaned up the beds. Tomorrow I'm going to garden claw, add some more compost, and plant a bunch of new seeds.

It was indeed gorgeous!

12. It is so beautiful here today.
It's been really slow at work, but the park near us is just packed. I walked about two miles before I came in today - it was glorious.

17. Damn! Those are some gorgeous kids!
The youngest one reminds me of my daughter a lot... It's lovely here in Portland, of course. I've got to get a new hammock; ours rotted out last fall.

24. Oh thanks! I'm enchanged with Portland!!
Actually the youngest kid, in back, is our neighbor.

I've sometimes thought about relocating to Portland - everything is so HUMAN in scale. And it seems so relaxed.

But maybe that's my rose colored visitor glasses.

25. No, it really is a great place to live.
We love it here. We have a beautiful, woodsy neighborhood but it's ten minutes from downtown. Many people here do put a very high value on quality of life, and it shows. You should seriously consider moving! :hi:

started to unravel.

I worked in my yard for a while today

23. And to THINK I used to want one of the cape cod sort with the bars
on either end.

This one was a sad compromise, but boy was I lucky to do it. I love this hammock so much sometimes the thought of getting in it is the only thing that gets me through a day at work.

26. Hey, Neighbour!
I was looking at the Olympic Peninsula today from the comfort of my own, Canadian-based hammock. Watched the Clipper depart for Seattle, and the Coho return from Everett.

Gotta love the wet Coast!
