1. Be nice to really
stupid-mean people.

But then I'm Southern and was raised to do this.

:D

2. Great question! I eat meat and I drive to town when I could take a bus.

I'm working on getting into the habit of riding the bus more often.

But now that gas is more than $2.00 a gallon, I'm sure it will get easier to do.

14. And I shave in the shower, too
I used to, for ecological reasons, just put some hot water in the sink and use that to shave, saving lots of water and lots of energy to heat the water.

But then I discovered the relaxing magic of shaving in the shower. It wasn't so bad before, because I could actually turn the water flow way down when I started doing that, so that it was probably less than people who just let the hot water tap in the sink run and run and run and run while they shave.

But now I have a tub that has no control valve - it's either ON or OFF. Nothing in between.

I feel bad about it, but the shave is so much better, and I can actually shave fairly quickly. But I still feel bad about it.

4. Uhhh...
When you dig deep then almost everything we do is; isn't it?
The "most"? For me it is not being environmental enough.

'Can of worms' officially opened.

8. How is that hypocritical?
You're a lawyer and they need representation. It's not like you preach against people paying for legal services. Do you?

11. Where do you think the cash comes from? Manna from Heaven?
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 09:53 AM by Jersey Devil
Of course they are entitled to representation and I have no problem with that. But when you are paid in cash by a thief you have to at least wonder where the dough came from if you have any beliefs that theivery just might be immoral.

Of course, if someone is a thief themself then this would not be a problem.

13. I see your point, but many poor people don't have bank accounts.
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 10:07 AM by brainshrub
Since the whole point of American Justice is "innocent until proven guilty", I don't think you should consider yourself a hypocrite.

Most of the thievery in America is done by white-collar corporate criminals who pay their lawyers far more money via check and credit-card.

I don't think you're a hypocrite at all.

6. buy organic products for home but whatever when I'm out
I'd like to think all the junk I put into my body when I'm not home is at least partially balanced out by the stuff I put into it when I am home O8).

15. Although I totally support Nationalized Health Care and
insurance for all regardless of age, I work for an HMO. Maybe it's not hypocrisy but I am not comfortable with it at times.

17. Two things
I smoke even though I hate tobacco companies.

My parents are fundamentalist Baptists and I pretend that I respect their beliefs when in fact they just make me sick to my stomach.

Khash.
