Paul Newman Winding Down Acting Career

By JILL LAWLESS, Associated Press Writer

LONDON - Paul Newman, the movie legend whose piercing blue eyes have lit up screens for five decades, says he'll give up the activities he once described as his two great passions — acting and motor racing.

"I think both are winding down," Newman told The Associated Press during an interview Friday. "I'll probably race for another year."

Fans need not despair just yet. The iconic star of "The Hustler" and "Cool Hand Luke" says he plans to make one last film — "for good luck."

"Cool Hand Luke" is freaking 80. I can't get my mind around that. My beloved late Grandma was 80, and she seemed like a different species from Newman, y'know?

9. A split of Champagne and an Amy's frozen meal.
Saag paneer, to be exact.

I gots to celebrate today. It's never too early for Champagne if you've had a successful day in court. :toast:

11. I put his lust factor right up there with Salma Hayek and Halle Berry.
And I'm not one who gets into looks much, but I make an exception with those three.

13. Women *dream* of a career that lasts until their 80's.
What's the last film Jane Fonda did, for example?

Uh, okay, I know this is a lighthearted thread about Paul (whom I :loveya: and enjoy all his foody products)....

14. Jane Fonda
retired from acting. She could've had many roles if she wanted.

That being said, her last movie was in 1990, but her first movie since then is coming out this Spring, called "Monster in Law". Alas, it co-stars J-Lo. I think Fonda could've chosen a better comeback vehicle.
