Edited on Thu Mar-10-05 10:51 PM by tuvor
I just turned 40, and like magic my temples are growing visibly gray.

Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up.

Well, at least I'm not going bald. Guess I can look forward to looking "distinguished," whatever that means.

34. Some looks good. My mother's hair is a beautiful silver shade.
She started going gray (silver) in her mid-late 30s. She's lucky, though - it's soft textured and very pretty.

6. I got a streak of gray in front, like my mom, when I was in 8th grade.
The other kids though I dyed that streak blonde. Nope. It never occured to any of the kids that another kid could have gray hair. Then when I was in my late 20s, gray started coming in around the temples. Oh well.
Good for you!

22. Striped hair?
Actually, I let my hair grow in lately, and some of the hairs had a grayish or whitish band in the middle. It's strange to see a hair that goes from dark blond to snow-white and back to dark blond.

Calculating at about 1 mm of growth per day, the area matches the last month of my Grandmother's life. I took care of her pretty much 24/7 as congestive heart failure slowly sucked the life out of her. She was 91 years old.

I'm almost 47, and look much younger. The consolation prize, I suppose, for a life of dissolution, dissipation, and failure :)

26. 30-something, with a few silver hairs.
Silver, not gray. And I love them. I used to color my hair black, and always wished I could keep the silver intact none the less. I quit because 1) it became a pain in the you-know-where, and 2) black hair color is carcinogenic. So I've got my silver highlights back. Yeah, I'm weird that way. :)

33. No, but I'm close. I'm skating towards 39 and no gray hair.
I get highlights in my hair every 12-14 weeks or so, and I always make my stylist check my roots for incoming grays. Not a one so far.

My dad went a long time before seeing a gray hair (except in his beard) too. He was well into his fifties, possibly 60, before his dirty blonde hair sprouted a gray.
