2. I LOVE Whiter Shade of Pale.
Great drinking music! I heard about John Lennon and one other rock star (who was telling the tale) getting into a limo and listening to a tape of that song and how much Lennon liked it.

3. Trivia: the organ background for Whiter shade of Pale is
actually Bach's Air on a G String. (A musical G-string, not the kind you pervs are thinking of!).

8. My son has one of those old Hammond organs in his room.
He actually used in a rock band, believe it or not. He will be home for a couple of weeks this summer and I am going to have him crank out some Whiter Shade of Pale.

9. I rediscovered that song...
... about a year ago. There was a lot of discussion about it on DU. Someone pointed me to a web site where the meaning of the song was explained by the lyricist.

As might be expected - my personal interpretation of the lyrics had nothing to do with what the lyricist put in it. This is true of a lot of good songs IMHO :)
