Help! I think my cat is a Republican.

I keep finding tortured lizard carcases around the house. I just found one still alive, swimming in his water dish. He seems to think he's a jailer at Abu Ghraib. Is there no hope?

1. Have him de-clawed and de-toothed immediately

I didn't do it. He was a stray and I found him that way. He kills without claws! He bats the little lizards around like a soccer ball.

5. I've had two cats

that were veritable killing machines. The one I still have has learned not to bring his stuff inside, cuz Daddy just takes it away. So now at least I find the critter parts outside.

I've gotten used to a certain quantity of dead lizards. But to find one alive in his water dish was a bit much. A few months ago, I came home to find him siting in the entry way, a huge lizard, torn apart, blood everywhere, at his feet. Usually they are small. This one was huge. It would be one thing if he ate them, but he has no interest in doing that. He only tortures them. Taking them away isn't really good enough, since I don't generally find them until he has finished with them. I suppose I just have to get used to living in the Abu Ghraib for geckos.

He's also good at catching mice, rats, gophers and the occasional bird.

My little girl, in my avatar, catches worms. Yeah, worms. Nothing but worms. She's quite proud of herself when she does it, too.

Man those things are fast - it would take me an hour to catch them and let the go outside.

She use to bring me live birds too (pandemonium, feathers everywhere).

She's a real sweetie but her little love gifts were a bit too much...

I think the carcasses you find are but a spall percentage of the total catches... many get eaten, I think.

One of my cats once vomited up an entire, unchewed sparrow. It's amazing what they eat.

I think I read somewhere that toads don't taste good. I have never eaten either, so I don't know for certain.

I found this poor little mouse in a corner with the cat just staring at it, the dog had brought it in and dumped it on the floor for the cat to play with, not a scratch or tooth mark on it, just shaking from fear, I grabbed it and let it loose in the front yard where the dog couldn't get to it. I'll notice the dog in the back yard chasing them around, but he wears a muzzle at all times outside, so he can't do much anyway...and the mice are only out there during harvest season, I think he looks forward to it, gives him something animate to chase.
