2. My cousin was the original bass player
and I knew (and jammed with) Keith Streng in high school (he's a REALLY good drummer).

Got a copy of that Red Star single too...

:)

6. Wow-I LOVED the Fleshtones
I honed my '60s go-go dancing skills at their shows back in the '80s!

:D

10. They're still around and making records
They got royally screwed by IRS records - we may never see any of their early vinyl stuff reissued on CD.

Which really sucks...

11. Wow-that would suck. I have Roman Gods on vinyl but
it's unplayable. It's worn out. I would love to get their stuff on CD.

Do you know what happened w/IRS records?

13. IIRC: IRS dumped them from their roster but held the rights
to their material.

Capitol-EMI bought the rights from IRS but refuses to reissue the stuff.

Why???

Because they're fucking morons...

7. Me too-I was into the '60s Mod thing back then
I loved this local Boston band called the Prime Movers-they used to dress like that, and opened for the Fleshtones a few times.

14. mods and rockers
I'd take the mod-looking guys anyday. Lots of interesting bands up your way in that period of time.

Did you have Beatle boots, too? :)

12. AWESOME live band.
One of the most indelible images of my concertgoing life was the entire frontline of the band getting up on the bar of the Euclid Tavern in Cleveland during their set, dancing up there for awhile (while still playing, of course), then marching down off the bar, out the door and playing in the middle of the damn street for awhile. The one time I've ever seen wireless gear actually justified in a small club. SO much fun...
