Better Off Dead by La Peste
Is a nasty, twisted little song, but if you're going to have an earworm, you could do a lot worse.

1. I saw them at the Rat, Cantones, and other clubs as a teenager

they were a great band. One of the guys died a few years back. I wonder what ever happened to Peter Dayton?

On edit: Thank you for the link! WAY COOL!!!!

2. Oh my god! Which one?
I think Peter Dayton is still around. Doesn't he have a new band--or a new version of LaPeste?

4. I went to Cantone's, the Paradise, the Rat, some place on Landsdowne
someplace in Inman Square... I can't remember all the names of the clubs. A lot of Boston bands played the Downtown Lounge, the one "Nu Wave" club in Portland, Maine, where I lived just before moving to Boston in 1980. That's where I first saw Mission of Burma, Unnatural Axe, Human Sexual Repsonse, and the Lyres, for example.
