So I finally get this piece of metal stuck in my tongue, yeah?
And before I got it I was thinking "I've heard it doesn't hurt at all, let's do this!" . . . SURPRISE! I HEARD WRONG. So it hurts like the dickens going through, and on top of that I can FEEL it being slowly pushed though my tongue like a meat thermometer being stuck into a pot roast. You know that kinda fleshy resistance you get when you do it, sometimes you have to push a little harder? I felt that in my friggin' mouth. It was awesome.

As it turned out, I am just as much of a hard-ass as I thought I was. I didn't even blink . . . or breathe, or move, or make a sound other than a sarcastic 'ouch' at the end. It was actually kind of exhilarating. Until the swelling started. Dinner was . . . interesting. It took me 20 min to eat something I could eat in under 1, if I really tried. It been quite a day. Cross your fingers that it doesn't get infected. OK, I'm done. :D

3. Youthful rebellion. That and I've always wanted one.
It'll most likely be gone as soon as I get a real job after graduation.

Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 05:51 PM by Hardhead
Some of these kids today are sooooooooo weird. I can live with a little scrap metal.

BTW, it'll most likely be gone BEFORE you get a real job. Cause & effect, you understand.

13. LOL! True fact; the tongue thing will have to be gone first,
or the "real job" will be tough to get. Fair or not, the old, uptight establishment folks who hire people usually are pretty grossed out by such things.

Some companies are cool with things like that, especially over here. We'll see . . .

Edit: I can't spell.

14. Ahhhh, but you don't NEED Gucci shoes . . .
nor do you NEED fancy shoes at all. All you need is one good pair of work boots. It's no fun, but you don't NEED it. Get my point? Oh, and I already had a hole in my head before this one. :)

9. how much did it cost, and did they card you??
I went to get ONE ear pierced the other day and they wanted $35 and made a copy of my driver's license... what's up with that?

I didn't PAY the $35, I went home and did it myself (there was a previous hole there, just a little closed up).

a bit painful. Damn chunks of stuff pushing against the bar. The shitload of cold apple sauce was great, though. :9

33. yeah... good luck!
I had a student whose tongue swelled up like a sausage. He had to carry a bottle of listerine around all week.

Hey, if it works for you... all right!

34. Do me a favor, kay?
Promise me that in about three weeks you'll change the jewelry to something a lot shorter than the one that's in there. You won't need a piece of jewelry that's 25mm long after your swelling goes down, and the long stud causes all sorts of wonderful problems like erosion of the roof of your mouth and chipped teeth.

Also make sure you tighten the balls every day or you'll start swallowing the damn things, and that sucks.

But short studs are cool, and this is a fun piercing.
