People always call me Wendy. It's not even close to my name.

17. I am another Susan
Named after my aunt who goes by Sue. I'm 47 and have never been called Sue. My parents called me Susan, my nickname was Suz. Why do my neighbors insist on calling me Sue?

4. I had a co-worker who always called me Cindy
I started calling her by another name, so she made an effort to get my name right. After that, it was an inside joke. I'd call her by the other name, and she would say "Yes, Cindy?

12. People frequently mispronounce my name.
My name's Beau.

Interestingly enough, most of the adults who mispronounced my name were teachers.

Most common mispronunciation: Be-yoo
Followed by: Bow (as in bend at the waist)
Close third: Boo

When first meeting someone I often get called: Mo and Joe.

Damn you Mom and Dad!

18. Yes, my name is Rick
But, for some unknown reason, a lot of people call me "Prick". I kindly explain to them that the "P" is silent, and it's pronounced "Rick".

19. Hell Yeah!
My Mother used to call me by all my brothers names. One day I finally ask her if she even remembered what she named me! I didn't take it personally because she was that way with all of us.

20. My last name is also a common first name for a woman....
So I'm often called by my last name. Then there are other folks who want to know what my last name is, thinking that my first name is a conglomerate, like "Bobbie Sue" or "Judy Lynn".
