Ever suspected that someone was a serial killer?
Have you?

What would you do if they were very close to you? Yet you had no real proof and the crimes were 20 years ago? Would you snag a tissue?

What if you knew it would destroy innocent people? Would you wait?

Just curious:-)

PS~ Time for bed...

2. No! Just a hypothetical!
How would one act under such insane stress?

3. Depends on their psychosis
Full-blown, I imagine they would act pretty normal. I would want to know what triggered the first episode, especially if they were anywhere near me.

4. What harm could come to innocent people by snagging a tissue?
Hypothetically, sure, why not. Then what?

5. Well...
I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I left my suspicion uninvestigated. I guess I'd do what I do whenever I suspect someone of being a serial killer, and talk to the police.

Serial killers don't just stop, so if the crimes are very old and there's been no activity since, either your friend isn't the real killer or he's gotten much better at hiding bodies...

6. I have sometimes wondered if I am a serial killer
how do I know that I don't sleep walk -- rise from my bed at night and live a secret, nocturnal life.

Then again maybe I have a secret nocturnal life where I'm doing good deeds. Breaking into shoe repair shops and resoling shoes, only to slip quietly back into my bed before morning.

Said he was sleepwalking when he butchered his wife.

7. I have a friend who thought that someone she
knew was a serial killer, she agonized over what to do and finally called the police and voiced her suspicions. The police checked the guy out, turned out the fellow she was suspicious of was not a serial killer after all, he was just weird. The cops did the whole thing without the guy ever finding out that my friend had been the one who called on him. :-)

8. I actually had a serial killer in my family
but nobody knew, nor were we suspicious. The clues were there after the fact, but I suppose since we weren't looking for clues, and weren't suspicious about anything, we didn't see them. This is all I care to talk about right now.

14. Not outside of California.
I'm not even going to give away gender here, but I will tell you that s/he didn't get a whole lot of publicity because there was a celebrity murder taking all the press attention at that time.

15. Wow.
I can't even begin to imagine.

Have a friend who was at a family reunion type event... when hushed tones were used to refer to "the twins". Turns out she is distant cousins with the sadistic twins featured in the movie Dead Ringer. She had no idea.

24. Hi
I got interrupted a few hours ago answering this.

My answer was that every family seems to have relatives they don't want to talk about including me. However, think about it, all those criminals did come from families.

29. Every family has a skeleton jailbird in the closet that
they try to keep secret. If they didn't, all criminals would have sprung unparented from the earth and have no relatives.

11. We've joked that a guy at work is
We hope he really isn't. But... He comes in an hour early and gets about ten minutes of work done. The dumpsters smell bad. He smells bad. He supposedly lives with his mother but no one has ever seen his mother. A couple of coworkers have dropped by for various reasons and he has been careful not to let them into his house. Hmm... Maybe, we are unfairly picking on a guy with poor personal hygeine. Maybe, we should take a good look in the dumpsters though.

21. No, not a serial murderer
Edited on Sat Oct-11-03 08:32 PM by AwsieDooger
The lady down the block might have done it one time. It's really a trivial issue compared to all the annoying road work going on.

on edit, I should expand and more seriously: her husband supposedly disappeared and never returned about 15 years ago, according to the suspicious gossipy neighbors who lived here then as now. I've never been given concrete (so to speak) proof that she should have been more of a suspect than stranger involvement or intentional departure.

27. People have suspected I was a serial killer..
I live in Baton Rouge and we had a panic not so long ago because of a serial killer that would attack women living alone. Several of my co-workers decided I was the serial killer, mostly because I'm 6f4 and about 220. It was meant as a joke: unfortunately, one of my paranoid delusional co-workers decided it was true and had to be talked out of calling the FBI on me.
