Okay, has anyone here heard of Les Barker?
He's British. He advertises himself as a "professional idiot". In the meantime, he writes poems about things that leave the average adult laughing uncontrollably, such as "Guide Cats For The Blind". He's also written an advice poem for George W. Bush. If you'd like, you can listen to the MP3 at his site, http://www.mrsackroyd.com. I highly recommend it. The poem is called "The Civilized World".

I was initially afraid that our exceedingly right-wing community would boo Mr. Barker while he recited the poem. The venue was so quiet while he spoke, one could have heard a pin drop. When he was finished, there was a thunderous ovation.

I hope you'll enjoy the poems as much as we did!

Julie
