So I go over to FOX, thinking "Football's over, thank God, no more sports bullshit for a few months" and, lo and behold, there's a goddamn COLLEGE BASKETBALL GAME on! Who fuckin' cares?!

So, does anyone know, is there any plan for FOX to show something intelligent, like the Simpsons and Arrested Development and the other stuff that's supposed to be on Sunday night?

And answer me this one, too: I was cruising through the channels a while, and one of the shopping channels is showing HOCKEY! WTF?!?!?!?!

1. I wish they would reschedule The Simpsons to a time that isn't always...
getting pre-empted by sports.

2. Or just stop showing the *%&(*#$% sports altogether.
But, that's the big money ticket, so they won't do that, and I'm sure that it's becuase of things like sports that the channel can afford to do quality programming.

4. I'm fine with the sports but it's time for Fox to realize that...
since it has grown up as a network and gotten sports, that it now should move the show that built it from 8:00 Sunday to some time that isn't always filled with sporting events. For instance, Thursday nights would be good

6. The Simpson's used to be on Thursday nights.
Back in the early-90's, I believe. I think it used to be part of a back-to-back with Married With Children.

9. It started on Sundays, but they soon moved it to Thursday
to compete with The Cosby Show.

10. Married with children was known as the Show Killer
when they ran it an assload of shows that they put after it just tanked, The Crittic, John Leguizamo's sketch show, the George Carlin Show, finally they put the simpsons after it (this was the early years when parents groups were up-in-arms about it cause it was a cartoon not oriented twards toddlers) in an attempt to kill the simpsons, AND IT KILLED MARRIED WITH CHILDREN!!!!

8. Yeah, that is absolutely true -
it is the Simpsons that built FOX. And FOX should show some honor to the people who watched the Simpsons who thus also built FOX.

They should know that millions of people would prefer to be able to say, in all confidence, every Sunday, that they will be able to watch King of the Hill, Arrested Development, The SImpsons, Malcolm in the Middle at the same time, every week, come hell or high water.

It really is annoying, especially during the football season. I never knew what time the shows were gonna be on, I never knew whether they were maybe gonna pull one or two shows due to time constraints, nor whether they were just gonna show a rerun.

ARGH!!

Sunday night, this lineup, is the only thing that I ever consciously set aside time to watch, and just about the only time my TV is ever on.

ARGH!!!

3. Could be they're selling tapes of classic seasons/games past.

Or not. As I recall, there was a channel shift on my cable network recently, and we get a sports channel were there was some generic channel that was so boring I don't even remember it anymore. (I'm Canadian, but hey, you can never tell.)

11. Yeah, I hate it.
I really screws up my Tivo. It has no clue when the game will end, all it has is somebody's best guess as to when the Simpsons will start so it ends up recording only part of it or none of it...
Oops, I just turned it on and they're showing Independence Day here (Philly suburbs).
