"Uncle Duke" had become a separate persona from HST years ago.

Besides, since Trudeau is laid-up with a broken collarbone (skiing accident), I suspect he'll be going to several weeks of "flashbacks" as soon as the current backlog of strips runs out.

I wouldn't at all be surprised, though, to see no new Duke storylines for a few months. It might seem poor taste for many readers to turn to another plot with the ridiculous Duke character soon after the suicide of his original "inspiration."
