Best Female Rocker
Does anyone think Melissa Ethridge is the greatest female rocker ever or at least the greatest of our time? I think she is at least the greatest female rocker of our time. I just do not see any female who could challenge her for that title. I think she just might be the greatest female rocker ever. As of right I think Janis Joplin may be the only female who compete with her for the title of greatest female rocker ever. So what do other think?

She wrote, produced and recorded some of the best selling albums by any female performer.
She paved the way for female performers today in many ways.
Jagged Little Pill sold 14 million copies in the US alone.
Her live act is amazing.

9. Maria McKee when she was leading Lone Justice.

Patsy Cline meets Janis Joplin, the hype said, and it wasn't far from the truth.

If you saw them on SNL about 1986 (the one where William Shatner admonishes trekkies to get a life), you'll know what I mean.

Maria is an amazing talent; I got to interview her when she was still leading Lone Justice, and I got a kiss at the end of the interview. Wow...

Her "Life Is Sweet" album is the best thing she's ever done IMO, and the title song is an absolute classic.

And yes, she is a GODDESS:

I saw her at the Town Pump in Vancouver supporting Life is Sweet. It was to make up for me travelling from Edmonton to Vancouver in the dead of winter to see her perform supporting You Gotta Sin to Get Saved, and then she fucking got sick in Seattle!

Anyway, I got to meet her backstage, and although I didn't get a smacker (dammit), I did get to give her a stylized portrait I did of her, and she autographed another one that I keep for myself. Her handwriting was partly illegible, but whatever. Great show, too.

Where did you see her? They never played in Edmonton.

ON EDIT: I don't imagine you have the interview to post, would you? Who was the interview for?

28. I saw them in Cleveland in the early 80's
When they were touring for the original "Lone Justice" album; I was writing for a long-departed 'zine and managed to get an interview w/ the band after the show. It was a good interview and Maria and Ryan Hedgecock were both very nice and talkative.

At the end of the interview my friend (who was w/ me) blurted out to Maria, "He thinks you're the most beautiful woman in the world!" I was 50 shades of embarrassed; Ryan then said to Maria, "You've gotta give him a kiss for that!" She then gave me a peck on the cheek and a smile; I was, shall we say, "in heaven" :)

I was 20 years old when it happened, so that was (and still is) a high point in my life!
