Jazz drummer Chick Webb was born in Baltimore on February 10, 1909. His 1930s band featured Louis Jordan, who went on to become the biggest selling R&B artist of the '40s. Webb also discovered Ella Fitzgerald.

2. NO! I love Chick!
He helped Ella Fitzgerald get out there and his band swung harder than Goodman's.

Been reading up on my jazz recently...
