I need help w/getting rid of pop-ups.
Just started getting them in the last 2 days. I have spam and pop-up blockers on but am still getting them. Are there any files I can look for and delete to try and get rid of this annoying problem? Are they cookies; can I delete all cookies and hope that fixes this? I'm very computer-challenged, but they are starting to get on my last nerve. Thanks.

5. Yup! Mozilla is the answer
NO popups ever inflict themselves on me now. Mozilla is so good that I hace completly wiped I.E. and Netscape off my hard drive.

14. Again, SMcS, thank you!
I installed both these downloads and found tons of hidden files which are now deleted. HAve not had a pop-up since, and my 'fuzer appears to be a lot faster!

10. Disable? Delete? Try OBLITERATE.
Scorch your hard drive with napalm if you have to, but get rid of it. And yes, Mozilla/Firefox is like stepping into the light for the very first time. Once you have Tabbed Browsing (to say nothing of the automatic Javascript Popup blocking) you will never be able to go back. I actually feel annoyed and depressed when I have to use IE on someone's computer. It feels like I am using Windows 3.1 or something. Some antiquated relic from a quaint era of stupidity and inefficiency.

8. Take a deep breath...and download Firefox browser.
It took me a while to work up enough courage to do it, but I finally did about a month ago. NO POP UPS!
Firefox browser is 10 times better than Internet Explorer.
Love it.

Sounds like deleting spyware and installing Mozilla and those 2 other programs will save my remaining sanity. :hi:
