3. Why no place to vote "No"----Massachusetts DMV has
really become quite stress free in the last few years.

No real problems at all.

4. memphis takes at least 4 hrs to get a dl
which is why i still have my arkie. it always makes me think of primus

dmv-primus
I’ve been to hell. I spell it...i spell it dmv
Anyone that’s been there knows precisely what I mean
Stood there and I’ve waited and choked back the urge to scream
And if I had my druthers I’d screw a chimpanzee-call it pointless

When I need relief I spell it thc
Perhpas you may know vaguely what I mean
I sit back and smoke away huge chunks of memory
As I slowly inflict upon myself a full lobotomy-call it pointless

Barbecues, tea kettles, gobs of axle grease
There comes a time for every man to sail the seas of cheese
Now, life’s a bowl of bagel dogs, but there are unpleasantries
Cold toilet seats, dentist chairs and trips to dmv-call it pointless

I’ve been to hell. I spell it...i spell it dmv
Anyone that’s been there knows precisely what I mean
I’ve stood in line and waited near an hour and fifteen
And if I had my druthers I’d screw that chimpanzee-call it pointless

5. I once drove to Columbus
I waited for close to 6 hours. For some reason they lost my paperwork and then finally the lady asked me if I had been helped. I had to fill out some more forms and then after all of that they tell me that I didn't have the right information for them to do what I needed for them to do.
I was pissed.

6. The DMV in Norristown PA is a pleasant experience
especially if you go on the one EVENING that they're open - in and out.

10. I've never had any major problems with the DMV.
None that weren't self-incurred, that is.

11. I'll admit .... I procrastinated
Here's my story. I have an Oregon license, my OR license expired (not by much tho) so I figured I'd finally get my Connecticut license. Anyway, I went to get my license today. The CT dmv tells me, my Oregon license has been expired too long. so now I've gotta take the driving test, written test, and eye test ... total cost for that 120.00. The actual license is 66.00. Oh yeah, did I mention I have to be on a waiting list to take the driving test. Next opening is in May:wtf: May?
Ok, so I call the Oregon dmv and they told me just to renew my OR license through mail. I have to get renewed in Oregon to get a license in Connecticut without all that crap.

Take a lesson kids, don't procrastinate and don't fuck with the DMV:hurts:

13. ah-HA!
You usually have 90 days to transfer a license from state to state. If your previous license expires, you're screwed. Time to take a new driving test.

12. We don't have one...we have a Secretary of State...just as worthless
with a snazzier name. ;) MrG taught my son the word "fuck" when he was a year and a half in a secretary of state office.

14. True DMV story.
I have a client in NJ who was suspended for fraudulent insurance ID except for the fact his agent totally messed up while taking my client's checks and cashing them for his policy. My client didn't know he was suspended until he was suspended. Til 2007.

Went to the DMV. They won't do anything at the regional office. But my client can apply to Trenton for a hearing -- in 6 months his number will be called. In the meantime, he can't apply for "hardship" in the Garden State, which in other places will allow suspended drivers to solely drive to and from work. And he will be bankrupt before the end of this month without a way to get to work (he does freelance work in the tri-state area).

The point: DMV didn't charge him with NOT HAVING PROOF OF INSURANCE, but having FRAUDULENT DOCUMENTS which were in fact valid and his agent caused all this trouble. And they don't want to hear about it unless I can get an Order to Show Cause (emergency request for a hearing) damned soon.

I don't know who's more upset: me or the client.
