One of several servers I tend, on various platforms.

The PHP Web application running on Windows 2000 using a Microsoft SQL Server database is remarkably stable and remarkably slow.

7. I run a perl-based web server

Also on Windows 2000 server with SQL server. It was a nightmare keeping it going with IIS. The thing crashed constantly, IIS doesn't support web standards, even trying to configure something simple required some kind of Microsoft Brainiac. I nearly got ulcers.

Since I switched to Apache my life has been sweet. Everything seems brighter, my database queries are so speedy it's beyond belief.

Aaaah, that's nice.

11. We run Perl applications with Apache on Linux

Works quite well, with MySQL database. Definitely doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Windows 2K/IIS/VBscript/JavaScript/Com+/MS Sql Server but it is pretty dependable.
