Should Gene Keady's rug be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame?
The Purdue hoops coach, retiring after this season, will probably be remembered, not for being second to Bob Knight in Big Ten wins, but for the endangered animal living on top of his head:



Even that photo doesn't do the rug justice. Alas, an image search failed to turn up a shot in which Keady a) turns around, or b) buries his face in his hands, either of which (as evidenced repeatedly Sunday in the win over Michigan) reveals a yawning gulf (at least three whole inches) between where the rug fit twenty years ago and his present-day hairline.

Maybe it could go alongside Marv Albert's... :evilgrin:

I've always thought Keady's hairpiece was the worst I'd ever seen. I guess he didn't care, or else he would've ditched it.
