Is there a way to prevent a dog from
farting? I sleep on my left side, my dog always curls up to me on that side with her butt facing me, but she farts all night. So I turn on my right side, I can't sleep. If I put her on the floor she bark all night. I've tried covering her butt with a towel but the smell still gags me. If I try the clothespin method I can't breath.

1. I guess you could try changing her food (?)
Short of that, I'd have to make my dog sleep outside of my bedroom.

but this usually only occurs at night when trying to sleep.

18. Or, maybe that's when you notice it. Try this first before
changing the diet. Worms, in addition to the smelliness, can cause all kinds of problems for the puppy.

15. Age can be a factor. Does she still drink lots of water?
The yogurt may be a help with an older dog (if it can take milk products) as it can replace some of the flora and fauna the gut needs.

Might wanna look into the ratio of corn in her feed. Think about lamb/rice based chow for a bit to see if she digests it better.

A bit of oil added might help her pass things through easier too.

12. Good point from NSMA ^
Also, if your dog is a Golden, you might wanna make sure they are not having pizza delivered when you are away from home. Yes, they are THAT clever! ;)

19. nsma...
if you read my note - I am trying to find you - need your help remembering an item. The pm function seems to be down - so am hoping you see this via the replies.

btw, hope is getting a little gassy in her old age... I would suggest the raised food dish - but she is so enthusiastic about licking her dish clean after eating - that she would knock the dish off of any platform.

6. Change food. Check for worms. Give dog some good (lots of live culture)
yogurt if she has never shown any lactose intolerance. Is she getting enough exercise? Is she pregnant?

If you are feeding a certain brand that starts with the letters AL, stop feeding it to her. Never saw a dog yet who could eat that stuff without becoming a device for peeling paint.

7. Does she eat dry food?
We had one who was, well really bad, the vet said to soak the food in warm water and sure enough it cut it down considerably. Not altogether but it was bearable.

14. No dry food
she won't eat it but do feed her Pedigree which is the only food she enjoys. I tried Nutro but she does not like it.

8. Try giving your dog Beano. It worked for a friend of mine who had the sam
problem with her dogs. Available in pharmacies. Call your vet and ask how much is appropriate for your dog's size.

13. Does your dog eat rawhide bones?
If so, make sure she doesn't swallow them. I've found the best way to stop gas is to give only kibble and milk bones, nothing else.

24. Possibly, I try to go to my local pet stores for stuff, but I believe
petco does.

I have 3 dogs and it's a great poop controller and they really love it.
