Poll question: Your favorite SoCal 'Burb
What's your favorite burb of LA....and just to make things interesting I've left out Clairmont, Santa Monica and Venice

Sorry, polls are turned off at Level 3.

10. Most respectfully:
Visiting Oxnard causes people from Fresno to feel a sense of civic pride.

16. From a nickname contest, Oxnard is now "Bakersfield by the Sea."
Hilarious, ain't it?

18. Hold on a minute...unfair to Oxnard.
I've been to Oxnard, I know Oxnard, and Oxnard is no Bakersfield!

Bakersfield is Oklahoma in the Valley. (Don't get offended OK folks, just come CA humor here, wonderful state, really.)

7. Mar Vista
Cheap apartments, Cool temps in the summer, lots of bars and resturants nearby, very close to Venice Beach and Santa Monica, LAX, and the 10/405 interchange.

8. Canyon Country...Beverly Glen, Benedict, Stone, Laurel Canyons
...the best of both worlds in L.A. Far enough out of the city to have seclusion and rustic...yet close enough to avoid much of the freeway traffic commute most other people in most of the 'Burbs listed above have to do daily.

And the best part IS, in the Canyons you get the 'Burbs WITHOUT all the prying intrusion from neighbors you have in other 'Burbs.

13. I live in La Crescenta and love it here...
It is like living in a small town in the middle of a large city. We go to the Montrose farmer's market almost every weekend -- lots of families out walking and buying food, fruit and vegetables.

Plus, we are close to a lot of things and the freeway.

14. Hermosa or Manhattan Beach.
But I admit that I haven't been to either of those places for quite some time, on the grounds that LA in general sucks.
