Has anyone seen "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle"?
If so, what did you think? I'm planning to rent it on DVD.

I never got around to seeing it in the theater, and I'm intrigued to see it because (a) it's a stoner movie, and (b) it actually features two Asian-Americans as the lead characters, and I think this is the first time a mainstream Hollywood feature flick has done so (and certainly at least in the context of portraying them as "real" Americans instead of Charlie Chan types).

1. interesting sidenote
I am gonna see it soon, I hear it's pretty amusing.

I am friends with "Kumar's" brother. Both the brother and Kumar are vegan, so Kumar is not actually eating White Castle hamburgers, but veggie burgers throughout the movie.

The brother made the same point as you, that it was one of the very few opportunities for his brother to be a lead in a movie.

3. I haven't seen it yet, but my friend was one of the exec producers
So I am very excited to see it. However, it's been solidly checked out of my video store since it came out on DVD - so I haven't gotten the chance yet.

:-(

4. Funny as hell,
and FAAAAR more intelligent than one has any right to expect from the "Dude, Where's My Car" guy. Fucking brilliant little flick.

I liked it enough that I bought the DVD.
