resizing avatars
I want to upload a new avatar, and it is 5 KB gif. The limit for DU is 3 KB. I can't figure out how to resize it as a gif. I can use photo programs I have (zoom browser and photo impression 4 to resize it as a jpeg, but then the file is even larger. Apparently jpeg files are bigger. I haven't figured out how to get to those programs to work with it as a gif file. Any ideas on what I can do to get it down to 3 KB so I can upload it onto DU?

to embed the lot. I've yet to find any good freeware that'll do it, so I used the gif animator that came with PhotoImpact Pro...

Well, Dadaware Embellish (google it) might still be available. It's free these days...

I couldn't get embellish to install on my computer but I was able to locate a site that allows you to resize gif images online for free.

I should have an animated SpongeBob icon now. Here's hoping it works!
