Nurses? Need help on a minor medical question

My son has about a dozen tiny blisters on various parts of his body. He itches them and they ooze which obviously makes him itch more.

He says he can't sleep in him room as that is where it makes him itch. Should I take him to the doctor? Any known causes? He is 15 and has cable in his room so it isn't a case of him wanting to sleep in Mom's bed.

1. Has he had chicken pox? It sounds like it's the start of chicken pox

or shingles. I'd take him to see a dr. Good luck, and I hope he feels well soon.

4. I know but I really hate my Bush approved doctor.

When my husband severed an artery in his nose, the doctor prescribed anibiotics when in fact my husband seriously needed a surgeon.

5. my medical terminology

is a bit rusty but he really needs to be seen. Any skin condition like this is spreading. He's probably right about his room. Take all the sheets etc and wash them. You might try calamine to control the itching.

6. You can get poison ivy all year long.

I see you're in Maine, so probably buried under a couple feet of snow, but when I lived in New England I broke out all year long. I'm very, very allergic to PI. Think I figured it out that the cat had found a sheltered patch of it under the porch and brought the oils in on her fur, which trnsferred to me when I pet her.

Still, my anecdotal evidence is no repacement for a doctor. Especially if he's had the chicken pox already, and the unlikelihood (really) of PI at this itme of year.
