Ready for the Crimson Sea?

GO UTES!

1. Utah actually has a good team this year
Of course I don't think they can take it on Oklahoma, ESPN just said Utah would be just another bye week for Oklahoma. But I watched the Cal game and I like their style of playcalling.

2. Not that 'OU'. We're talking 'bout those crazy Ducks from the north-west!
But it'd be a treat to play Oklahoma one day. Utah's got a new coach this year and he's really turned the team around. Last week they beat a very solid CSU team - so we'll have to wait and see how this turns out. I wouldn't be shocked in the Ducks won, but I'll be cheering for the Utes.

5. I forgot
I got confused with Iowa State, but I did see Utah play Cal, one of my closest friends plays for Utah, Lynzell Jackson, he went to Tempe High School and his mom worked at the same Motorola my mom worked at.

3. I don't know if the Ducks can recover from last weeks rout
They went from being on cloud nine after beating Michigan, to the depths of hell after the nightmare lost the WSU.

WSU is a very physical team that leaves there opponents banged up and it will effect the way UO plays this weekend.

I see the Ducks being unprepared emotionally and physically for the game.

4. CRIMONY
'OU' is Oklahoma.

'UO' is Oregon.

Should be an interesting game, if Parris Warren doesn't get busted for shoplifting condoms again, and if the Utes don't throw any more illegal career-ending blocks...

6. What? There are *other* games going on this weekend?
Sorry fans, but the eyes of the college football universe will be irresistibly drawn to the white hot center of the action, the game of the year, every year, except those years when they meet twice. That's right, I'm talking about:

Pacific Lutheran vs. Linfield, 1:30 p.m., Maxwell Field

There is no other game. See you there.

8. No, but it should be

Which is why I'm going to be there in person. The game will be hecka more entertaining than 99% of the contests any of those outlets will broadcast this year.

9. Alright, whatever you say
What city is the game going to be at? And how many people will show? 2,000? 10,000 maybe? I will be at the USC-Arizona State game in person, 67,000 people are expected to show and it will be a good game, hopefully the game you are going to will be a good game.

10. There should be about 3,000 lucky souls in attendance
In beautiful McMinnville, Oregon, in the gorgeous western Willamette Valley, heart of the Oregon wine region. Fall colors, the finest in small college football, microbrews, and beating up on the Lutherans. Does it get any better than that?

11. The way you described it sounds nice
But my heart will always be at Sun Devil Stadium. I been to one division 1-AA game, Northern Arizona versus Portland I think. Or two if this counts, Northern Arizona also played Arizona State which is the game I attended.

12. The Utes lost to my semi-pathetic Texas A&M...
...good luck - hope you catch the Ducks on a bad day.

The A&M game was a 2-pt conversion away from OT though...gad we suck.

14. Agreed on both counts.
I'm still shaking my head over the fact we gave up 37 points. At home. Argh...one thing we always used to be able to hang our hats on was defense.

But, I guess there's a transition to the new system. We went from 3-4 to 4-3, and it's not going well. At least not yet.

This week - Texas Tech - in Lubbock. We damn near always lose in Lubbock. That place is a pit, and their QB has only thrown for 49534583465 yards this season. We're doomed...

15. Just stop the pass, that isn't easy though
Edited on Fri Oct-03-03 01:44 PM by VermontDem2004
Texas Tech is very pass happy team and Kingsbury lead the NCAA in passing yardage last year and Texas Tech's qb is also ahead of everyone in passing yardage. If I am a Wide Reciever and I get a scholarship offer to Texas Tech, no doubt in my mind am I going to take it! Even though my heart is at ASU, if I was looking foward to going pro, there is no place better then Texas Tech to showcase my Recieving skills.

17. That was a good game.
It was too early in the season to really gauge how well the Utes team would be. I believe it was only Utah's second game of the season, so they weren't really set with their new coach and new offense.
