I want one, and I want a good one, but I don't want to spend tons of money.

Is this an impossible dream? :silly:

1. What do you want and how much do you want to pay for it?
"reasonable" is defined differently by different people.

2. I have one
I bought one at Sam's for less than $300 - a Fujipix.

My daughter bought one at Sam's the other day for less than $400, a step above mine --
But Kodak has a good one or two right now - check around.
The most important issue is, what will you use it for, and how important is zoom, pixels, etc.????

I use mine for the Real Estate business -- for pix on the web or for files; it also takes decent photos for printing.

Of course, an artist who plans to enlarge the photo a great deal would want a better one. But for most uses, the low-priced digital $200-$500 work great.

6. That sounds nice.
We don't have a camera, ours broke a long time ago and now I want one. I figure a digital would be fun.

I wont be using it for anything too special, just like birthday parties and things like that.

8. Another great site:
www.dpreview.com

Yes, the perfect digital camera for you does exist...you just have to decide exactly what you want.

7. An interesting place to buy cameras is Ebay. Figure out what you
want and see if anyone on Ebay is selling that type. Looks for reputable people - there are several camera stores that sell regullary there. That's where I picked up my camera.

9. Fuji Finepix e500 (or e550?) $350 and does a great job for its size
the e810 is better...

Great for consumers and some prosumers, though nothing beats a D-SLR or digital camera with a larger sensor and lens...
