Does anyone elses Opera 7.XX ever appear crazy like this?
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 07:43 AM by pinniped
This is the second time it just went bonkers in a couple weeks. I was just reloading a DU page and this came out.

This time after a reboot the problem still persists.

All other sites are running normally on Opera 7.XX.

Did I hit some kind of hot-key by accident?

1. Try checking your style prefs
From the nav bar select View --> Style. Make sure Author Mode is checked.

Then File --> Preferences --> Page Style. See if Author Mode is set as the default.

2. Thanks, it worked...but it was weird.
The style was on Author mode and then I switched it to user mode and reloaded. No change. I switched back to Author mode and then it went back to normal.

Maybe I was seeing things but that's what it looked like.

There must be a hot-key command for that setting because I don't ever recall messing with that 'style' before.

4. Could be DU served up a munged style sheet
and Opera was drawing it from the cache. Next time it happens, try forcing a hard reload (ctrl+Reload).

6. I think that happened with Internet Exploder on another site before...
( Timezone ). It didn't use the font specified by the site and went with some totally different font. After a page reload it went back to normal.

3. Memory leak? Too many apps open at once? Low on available RAM? (nt)

5. There might be something wrong with something because...

a lot of times ( 50/50 ) Opera doesn't shut down automatically when Windoze closes. Windoze has to end the program then I click end. I do leave Opera open when I shut down Windoze at times so the same sites will be there when I turn the computer back on.

But these two things really never happened with the last version of Opera which was 7.53 or something like that. I'm using 7.54u1.

I'll probably end up doing a full system reload.

7. You might have spyware running that is using up system resources.

Note that this also might be as simple as Charlie's post #4 states.
