at least this is my experience. Men tend to think they don't have to pick up their clothes off the floor and hang them up or put them in the hamper. They don't think that they have to put their shoes away so they are not in the middle of the floor to stumble over. They think the floor is the place for wastepaper, not the basket at their elbow. They don't understand the concept of doing dishes at all.

if women didn't wear makeup or happened to be wearing the same outfit. If a man noticed you were wearing black shoes, they would be very attentive. If they noticed anything about them other than they were black, (heels, straps, shiny, bows,gold dodads,whatever) they are either shoe salesmen or exceptionally observant.

Granted the range of behavior between individuals is almost as great as the range between sexs. IOW, your mileage may vary and trying to apply concrete examples to this is pointless. But in general, ...

I think most of the stuff women do to make get ready to go out is to outdo other women. It's more about the types of ways people compete - Men do it with sports and money, Women with looks.

If it were to get men's attention, they would stop doing it for going out once they got married, wouldn't they?

Speaking for myself, and not my gender, I find that it does not take me very long to do anything. But then, I cut a lot of corners and generally do an unaccpetable to mildly unacceptable job when it comes to many tasks. :)
