You may be onto something there. I find it hard to believe that a man as powerful as Rove will go down without a tremendous fight, if he did it, and anybody who believes the actual person who authorized this leak will pay in any way is most likely fooling themselves. We can always hope that the truth will come out, but at this point I am not convinced that we will get the truth from the WH.

7. They're already putting out the story

that Plame's job at the Bureau was common knowledge around DC. (Reason? If everyone knew, it didn't take at TOP level official--with clearance or special contacts--to have the information. Therefore, a lower level official, as you suggest, could take the fall.)
