1. Captain Parmenter - bumbling idiot in charge of a military outpost
2. Sgt. O'Rourke - scheming, secret owner of the saloon, looking for a fast buck
3. Vanderbilt - look-out who's blind as a bat
4. Hoffenmuller - butchers English
5. Dobbs - bugler who can't get a decent sound out of his horn
6. Duffy - living in the past about his glory days at the Alamo

Captain Parmenter is basically nice.
Sgt. O'Rourge is intelligent.
Duffy actually had some glory days.
Hoffenmuller can't speak but seems reasonably competent
Dobbs is dysfunctional in only one small area...
