Techie Help needed: Computer freezes up
I have a computer that freezes up every time I try to download something. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. I keep having to reboot, so it's obviously not letting me download anything. Mouse, keyboard are frozen the minute I try to download something, which is weird. It's running on a POS Pentium III with Windows 2000.

Hmm..

4. This is what I would try...
...download the free version of Ad-Aware, update it, then run it and delete anything it finds. An obvious one, but make sure you don't have a virus. Secondly, download the latest Service Pack for Windows 2000 and install it. Third, download the latest hot-fix from support.microsoft.com and let it install. That should take care of what might be hanging you up, but not being able to look at it, it's difficult to say.
