Uh, Oh.
I have been looking at the Saks website now that I am gainfully employed and have some Christmas cash. Tell me to stay away....Please!!! But they are so PRETTY and I would look good in them!! But they are suede and they would be destroyed the moment I step outside!! I want 'em!!!

Why must I be poor, and yet have exceptional taste in footwear!!?? I blame Bush!! If Clinton were still president, I would be able to afford them:cry:

Yes, I am nuts:P

1. Those are some pretty kick ass shoes! But ask yourself this,
"Do I need them? Are they practical? What else could I buy with the same amount of money, that would be more useful?"

2. Lovely as they are, they are not intended for human feet.
Orthopedic surgeons love those shoes because they get rich off women wearing them.

Let me spoil it for you: The buckle on them reminds me of Bush's Texas-style silver belt buckle.

11. Party Poopers
:P. I know, I know. The economy is going to be in the crapper for at least the next four years, so I just need to put aside my love of shoes and be practical. Dammit! The buckle comment did make me cringe though...I never thought of that. :P. BTW, I have the rare ability to be able to wear heels for hours at a time without feeling any pain. I think I have done it for so long that those nerves have just given in. I walked about 10 blocks in boots with 3 inch heels today. As I get older, I am sure that a podiatrist will be able to install a swimming pool thanks to me. I could pay rent, buy groceries, and do a load of other things and be practical. Why, oh why must I be practical!?:7

8. Prada shoes are so nice! i never have been a fan of
the major league pointy toe though. probably because they are just not cute on my foot, and i always feel like i'm going to trip with it sticking out there like that (such a lady, i am ;))

shoes are such a nice luxury, maybe you can find a good knock-off somewhere ... good luck!

just wait until you see the podiatry bills. They look damned uncomfortable.

20. Not to be mean, but my mom gave a pair like that to Goodwill in 1983.
They're tritely retro, a poorly executed copy of what was designed in the late sixties and early seventies for nice young things to wear to mixers. They're not even an original design, since the kitten shoe has been around since the 20s and keeps making ever more hideous appearances.

Not that there are many original shoe designs (and I say this as the Doc Marten Wearing, shoe averted daughter of the Shoe Empress of the Western Arm of the Spiral Galaxy; I've seen every shoe on the planet twice :eyes: ) but these are a poor example of recontextualization.

When will this retro passion end and we go on to the next leap forward??
