Man in Black
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

1. The CIA offed June Carter, you know.
Johnny Cash was a loose cannon among Country stars: he would say just what he thought and would always come down on the side of Justice for the downtrodden. He could NEVER be counted on to drink the kool-aid of MyCountryRightOrWrong.

That he was enjoying a resurgence in popularity (especially among the yoot) from the mid-90s on made him even more dangerous in the eyes of people like Dick (The Dick) Cheney, who wanted to send thousands of young people to war. The Regime could not afford to have Johnny Cash do something like re-work Man In Black to reflect and comment upon another unjust war.

Meetings were taken, strategeries were plotted and psychological profiles of Cash were pored over until his ONE weak spot became apparent: his pure and undying love for June Carter!

So, when she was scheduled for heart-valve surgery, a truly evil plot went into operation. A team of CIA Surgeons actually replaced June's heart with that of Cheney! Cheney got June's heart, with the on-board defibrilator as a cover story. Every time June's pure heart would try to send some love through Cheney's reptilian veins, the supposed defrib unit would dispense 950 cc of bile. It worked like a charm!

Meanwhile, the Essence of Evil that was Cheney's black and withered heart pulled June steadily downward, ultimately taking her life on the night of a total lunar eclipse. Poppy Bush smiled, enjoying every moment of the decline of Johnny Cash that followed.

True to the form of every Great Love Story, John soon joined his beloved in the arms of Death. Just as planned, he had bigger things than a war to worry about in the last few months of his life; he never got around to the remake of Man In Black. This nasty secret of the Bush Crime Family would never come to light because nobody would believe something this crazy.

I swear that every word of this story is TRUE, so stop saying that! The BFEE killed Johnny Cash just as surely as if they'd put a gun to his head!!!!
