OMG Canada has 30 Million People!
My Canadian friend just told me. 30 million people for that huge expanse of land.

California has 36 million.

5. Depends on your definition
Parts of what you'd call uninhabitable the Inuit do quite nicely on. There are still vast expanses of land here that are very habitable but realtively pristine and untouched - places where you can get lost in the woods, forever.

of Toronto try to survive in the arctic. That would be hilarious, especially the bankers on Bay st.

alot of Toronto would do pretty ok though - remember, alot of Torontonians moved here from other places - not all of which were warm and/or urban

you live, just like in the US.

I live in the banana belt, which extends down farther than northern California. Warm and sunny here today.

26. they're very close
I'm using http://www.bcca.org/misc/qiblih/latlong.html but there are several options if you google "latitude longitude"

Crescent City, CA: 41° 46' N

Windsor, ON: 42° 16' N

Those are the most extreme places listed in their database, so we still have Canada lying entirely to the north of California. But I'm certain that California's border with Oregon is further north than Pelee Island.

lol
Tokyo proper has only 12 million or something along those lines.
Seoul (where I live) has about 10.5 million.

Coming from Canada, Asia was ummm a little different with regards to personal space at first...lol

25. I love Seoul.
I'm here cause I teach English and also partly cause my wife is Korean. I first came here in '96, been here for a total of 6 of the last 8 years. It's safe, and cost of living (barring housing) is very reasonable. Great subway system, I never need a car; and it's a very convenient (you can get pretty much anything you want (except guns and drugs) at pretty much any time of day or night) place to live.

It's a crazy chaotic city, with so much raw energy coming out. It's also a confounding city and it still bewilders me, but as a guest here, I'm not gonna criticise too much...

It's not a place for everyone, but if one approache sthe city not knowing anything about it, and with an open mind, it's a whole lot of fun.

Cause I've done it and rather enjoyed it. But then again she was a California Korean. They sure do have a lot of side dishes in those Korean joints. Damn.

35. Yeah see Californian Korean and Korean are a world apart.
There are a lot of culture issues over here in Korea that take some getting used to. And some of them, you never get used to.

Attitudes to living together before marriage/casual sex/gift giving/family relations can be hugely different from what Westerners think of. I only dated 2 Korean girls (including my wife), but I've seen enough and heard enough to know that while certainly it can be very rewarding and fulfilling, there can also be a lot of problems.

Also, to be completely honest, the attitude of a lot of western men over here towards Korean women really disgusts me.

36. Western Men treat them as property, you mean?
Do elabourate. My best friend is Korean here in California and I his Mom gets upset when he tries to help his wife in the kitchen. Men should be the breadwinners and women should do all the house stuff seems to be his Mom's attitude. Am I close?

37. Not so much property as sex objects.
They seem to have this ideal in their heads that Asian women are there to service a man and that's the only reason for their existence.
Of course that's a generalization, and I know quite a few western men who are happily married to Asian women. There are many however who just treat them as their own personal sex toys and discard them after one or two goes in the sack. It's easy to do that here for a white person, and a lot of Korean women are still quite naieve about the whole "If you liked me you'd sleep with me routine".

Perosnally speaking, my wife loves it when I help in the kitchen... lol
