Do you believe in death after life? If so, where will you go?
What / who will you become?

Just wondering.

1. I, for one, believe that I will die after I am done living.
I will become ashes, and I will be cast to the four winds from Terminal Tower.

8. Does cloning count as life after death...
Edited on Tue Dec-14-04 11:57 AM by Longgrain
If you we cloned after you die? I would be you and you would be alive but you'd be after death...Then I could be dead again. I don't know, just trying to get existential here.

31. Very interesting novel called "Pandora's Planet"
-- presuming you can stomach Sci-fi (as I can).

Among its premises is that people have wangled what they consider immortality by recording all their memories, at the most detailed level imaginable, which are transferred to a new body when their previous one wears out. The clone wakes up thinking it's the same person. The clone has all the rights (property included) of the previous person, and so there's a continuity of family, friends, and business associates that is (for the characters in the book) indistinguishable from immortality.

I couldn't help thinking -- no, no, that's just a copy! It was particularly disturbing that characters would arrange "transfer" to a new body for cosmetic reasons, when their current body got to its 40s and 50s -- necessitating that the current body be discarded as part of the transfer.

What do you think? Immortality or suicide?

22. Death after life is kind of a given, isn't it?
None of us are vampires, as far as I know, so we're all going to die. So how can one not believe in death after life?

I'm assuming the poster meant life after death, of course, in which case, yes; all life feeds off of death. Bodies decomposing, fertilizing the earth, feeding plants, consumed by animals which die, etc. Until entropy, that is. Then everything dies.

13. I will go into an urn
that will at summarily be knocked over and spilled at a party one of my future grandchildren will be throwing while their parents are out of town. There will be much screaming and panic, then they'll incinerate the cat to replace my ashes. This will then be accidentally revealed at a completely inappropriate moment, and much hilarity will ensue.

Existence is a great lung - it breathes in and breathes out - life follows death follows life follows death. I hope in the next incarnation to be a stoat. That sounds neat.
