ok, i really don't know why, but for some reason this morning has been really great and i'm feeling so good. in part it's because of all you wonderful folks who provided the speech update, running commentary and breakdown of the whore-response, and in part it's because i spoke with a native from CA who told me flat out "the recall is going to fail, don't doubt it."
whatever the reason, i've realized that i'm -a complete addict to politics, any and all kinds -totally on my knees to my divinity that i live in an age with the internet (can you imagine being a political junkie in an all-print age???) -utter scared, excited, worried and hopeful that today's politics mean soooo much more than just what they are supposed to.
i'm really lucky, i'm a grad student and i'm allowed to read all this stuff and write, talk, and argue about it and get paid to do so. i'm also lucky because i've been able to study enough of history to understand what we're witnessing in these times.
maybe it's the iternet, or perhaps a convergence of certain trends and forces which shape our world. but i do believe, even if things continue to go downhill, that we're on the verge of a major, major change and that we'll see the effects within our lifetimes. i'd use the word revolution if it weren't such a cliche- yet it's how i feel.
thank you for being here, friends, and thanks to the fine folks at DU for allowing me to express my one true love.
