Anonymous Tipster Declines $40K Reward
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Dec. 8, 2004 — Helping to solve a murder case is apparently reward enough for one anonymous tipster.

Information from the caller led to an arrest in the unsolved murder case of a student strangled in an affluent suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.

Kansas City's Crime Stoppers group says the person who gave that key information was eligible for a 40-thousand-dollar reward.

But the tipster turned the money down, asking that it go instead to a charity group founded in the victim's memory. The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation offers scholarships to high school students and self-defense training.
