Bumpersticker Reaction (this made my day!)
On the back of my Civic wagon is a bumpersticker I bought in DC at the
anti-war rally in December, it is the Orwell quote-

"In a time of universal deciet, telling the truth is a revolutionary act".

I always figured that any Bushbot Ditto-monkeys would be too stupid to figure it out.
So I feel safe with this subversive quote that holds so true to the present
political climate. And I still do as I haven't yet gotten any negative reaction to it.
But what happened today gave me lots of hope for the future...

Pulling up to an intersection I waited for a left turn arrow, I had just missed the
last one so I settled in to wait a full cycle. In the rear-view mirror I noticed a
beautiful 8-10 year old African American girl in the passenger seat staring
intently at my sticker. I could see her mouthing the words and when she
finished she looked into space and I could see her slowly say "wow..."

Then she got the biggest most lovely smile Ive seen in years and she taps
her mom (i suppose) on the shoulder and points at the sticker saying "did you
read that? did you?" i leaned my head over to see her mom in the mirror
and she also was grinning widely! Mom must have noticed me looking back
at her daughters reaction and she waved- I turned around to smile and wave
back and i pointed to the sticker and both mother and daughter nodded in
approval and gave the thumbs- up! Without thinking I held up my fist in the
power salute and they BOTH saluted me back!!!

Life is just magical sometimes!

3. Thank You
After the day I've had I really needed an uplifting story like that!

If I had an emoticon for the power salute, I'd use it!

Good on ya!

7. great post!....love the quote too
I live in a small mountain town and I've got the following on my car:

I WASN'T USING MY CIVIL LIBERTIES ANYWAY

I've probably had it posted for ..um.. a year at least, and I've had only 2 comments (both positive) in that whole time. And no one has shot out my tires, so I really think no one else gets it. Amazing, n'est ce pas?
