A new DU "generation?"
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 07:29 AM by realisticphish
ive noticed something. I joined DU in June, and as i got started, there were certain members who were always on, always the main posters; usually 3000 posts or so. but since, oh, october there is a new crop of people, who are now hitting 500-600. These are the people i see posting more, where as i dont see the old-timers around as much. has this happened before? like at the beginning of the primaries?

1. I don't know
I've been around DU for about two years. I had another screen name that I then lost so I registered this one last March. I only recently began to post two to three months before the elections, so I don't know. I know I used to read instead of post but the elections fired me up. After the elections I noticed some said they would take a break from DU and come back when appropriate...

I've also noticed we gained like 10,000 new members in a MONTH!

was born.

I think there is always a wax/wane thing going on. I still see alot of DU'ers posting that were posting here when I joined (three years ago).

I think it's probably similar to most geolocated communities. Those of us 'old timers' are still here (although I was a new timer once ;-) )

Hello, for a (sort of) old timer. :hi: :hippie: :smoke:

4. I've been around since late 2003. This is post 2050 for me.
Sometimes I don't post for days at a time but I am always here at least once if not 2-3 times a day.

Sometimes I just don't have anything to say.

At other times, I am now busy with local Democratic hq working on a new activist committee that I have started, York County Committee of Correspondence.

Can't beat DU for getting news and info updates, though. I seem to find more here than on CNN!
