An amazing, practically forgotten, rock album that I just picked up

on CD: "Manfred Mann's Earth Band" (1972), by...er, Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Their debut album by this group (not to be confused with Mann's earlier band from the 60's, "Manfred Mann").

A great, unusual, satisfying album.

(Other great, unknown rock CD's I strongly urge you to check out -- "Starting Over" by the Raspberries (1974), "Drums Along the Hudson" by the Bongos (1982?), "Special Beat Service" by the English Beat (1983), "High Land, Hard Rain" by Aztec Camera (1983) ).

2. "High Land" is actually my favorite record of all-time

I got it on cassette when I was 14 or 15, but then I picked up the CD a couple of years ago and saw that it had three extra songs that I never knew about -- songs that were supposed to be on the cassette but due to space limits. My favorite record actually got better!
