Attention all Deadheads, Janis Joplin fans and fans of the Band

I forgot to mention this a couple of weeks ago, but there is finally a DVD out of the Festival Express tour from 1970. This was touted by all members of the Dead and Janis' band as the best time they ever had and includes both concert and candid footage. This is the tour that prompted the Dead's song "Might as Well." Check it out if you get a chance, you won't regret it :)

1. I saw it this summer.

It was a double-feature with "The Last Waltz". Amazing footage!!! I could have done with more Band and less Janis (she says, donning her flamesuit), but that's just me. I loved "Festival Express" and highly recommend it! :)

They included more Janis footage primarily because footage of Janis is rare. There is a LOT of Dead and Band footage around, but good footage of Janis is a rarity.
