Man lets friend stay overnight, friend attempts sexual act on his g/f

Det. Sgt. Anthony Repalone said the victim, her boyfriend and his friends, including Curatola, were at a club Wednesday. The victim and her boyfriend left before the others.

Curatola called the victim's boyfriend asking him to pick him up and let him stay over at his Syosset house, police said. The boyfriend agreed.

After Curatola got to the house, yet another friend called and asked for a ride, Repalone said. The boyfriend left to fetch his other friend shortly after his girlfriend had fallen asleep.

While the boyfriend was out, Curatola allegedly snuck into the bedroom where the victim, 41, was sleeping. Police said she woke up, fled the house, then called police.

2. Happened to me. A drunk friend of my housemates was persuaded to

sleep on the couch. I didn't know him, so I locked my bedroom door. Around 3:30 a.m., he knocked on my door and asked me to open it. I called through the locked door to go back to sleep.

A few minutes later, I heard him open a kitchen drawer and then return to my door. I then heard scratching and chipping noises at the door. He jimmied open the lock. In the kitchen light behind him, I saw him standing in the threshold, wearing only a V-neck sweator (that is, no pants, no underwear), holding a large chicken carving knife. I knew I was fucked, literally and figuratively.

I first calmly demanded that he leave. He didn't. I tried raising my voice (but not too much, I didn't want to seem to provoke him). He didn't. I tried calling my housemate on his phone in his bedroom (different number). Got his message machine.

I finally threatened to call 9-1-1 and get the police over to the house and reminded the houseguest that cocaine was on the living room table (I didn't care about getting caught up in the net of arrests. I just didn't want to be raped and/or murdered.) That did the trick.

He left. I locked the door again, although I don't know what help that would've been. The next morning, the houseguest was peacefully sleeping on the couch WITH HIS PANTS ON. My housemates initially didn't believe my story. Until Jimmy listened to my frantic message on his machine.

I felt better after Jimmy picked up the sleeping houseguest, threw him through the closed storm door, onto the lawn.
